We want to have a gas fireplace installed. When I called the store that sells and installs the fireplace, they said that all the framing and such would have to be done by a carpenter/contractor. They said that the labor fees that they charge are just for bringing the fireplace in, putting it where it needs to go, venting it, and getting it ready to be hooked up. So, does this mean I need to hire a carpenter/contractor AND someone to hook the gas up? Can a carpenter/contractor do the installation for me so I don't have to pay the fireplace store to do it?

I'm taking some training courses for being a carpenter and a wood painter. I want to move to Canada and want to know the average wage for a carpenter there.

i need a carpenter to do some special shelves for me in a tricky space in my apartment. i am concerned about finding a carpenter who is up to the job as it's right near our doorway so needs to be good workmanship and it's so expensive to get carpentry these days. i have asked friends + family but they can't refer me to anyone. i live in sydney.

I've found sawdust under my garage door , and I see carpenter ants around the house. I suspect they have a nest somewhere. How to eliminate them?
